Rayshade

Because colour is the result of light reflecting on a surface, light plays an important and often underestimated role in the perception of colour. That’s why a colour applied to a photo may differ quite a lot from a sample of the same colour on a patch.

For instance, consider the following illustration of a ball. On the left you’ll see the ball coloured with Rayshade, on the right the same ball coloured with conventional methods. You’ll understand that Rayshade leads to more realistic colours.
